When we asked Oliver what he wanted for his birthday, he was not exactly full of ideas -- this is, after all, a guy who is pretty happy to play with an old mint tin full of pebbles (makes a great noise when shaken) and prefers to watch the same 2 movies (Happy Feet and Finding Nemo) over and over again.
We decided that, with Oliver's help, we would carry out a secret mission to surprise his mommy with pictures of him for his birthday. It turns out he's really great at keeping a secret.So, a couple of Saturdays ago when his mommy thought he was off eating pizza and hanging out, he was actually working very hard at smiling for the camera and making us all laugh. (Oliver's grandma and Tim's mom came to help, which was a very good thing.)
He was incredibly cautious about this cake -- he tried a fingerful of icing, then offered one to me, and then one to his grandma. He is a very generous baby.
The pictures were wondeful; I will post more of them in the next few days.
