Tim's Birthday

 Today is Tim's birthday.  Oliver came over and we ate cupcakes.

 We also listened to Tim play his new sitar (a birthday present) and played Wii games.

Oliver is pretty good at the sword-fighting games.  There's an airplane-flying game that he really likes -- his favorite part is crashing the plane into the water and watching his mii bounce up in the air and float down in a parachute.

Legos and a pony ride

I had to buy a bunch of Legos for a project at work (okay, I didn't really HAVE to, but I wanted to), which turned out to be a lot of fun when Oliver came over to visit.

Later, we walked down to the park.  We thought we were just going down to play on the slides, but there was a festival going on and Oliver got to ride a pony.  Pretty cool.

Oliver graduates from pre-pre-school

This is the day Oliver graduates from pre-pre-school.  He will definitely miss Maya, who he likes a lot.

This is Miss Amber, who Oliver likes alot-alot. She likes him, too -- she calls him Ollie.

He did a pretty good job at the ceremony.  His hat did not want to stay on, but he held it long enough for a picture.

Later, he got to give a baby goat a bottle (which was a sort of messy experience for the goat, but it didn't seem to mind)...

Play with a lot of baby chickens...

...and go home with his favorite person of all.

The morning after

Because Oliver stayed up way way way too late at Amanda and Blake's wedding last night, he was not in the best mood this morning.

We entertained ourselves by brushing our teeth over and over, and we had a pretty good time, actually.

Amanda and Blake's wedding

This is Tim's sister Amanda, and Blake, right before they got married.  Oliver has known them since he was a teeny baby, so they invited him to their wedding.  

Alaina and Caroline were there, of course.  Oliver was very happy to see them.

Tim and his dad, Sam, helped Oliver with his tie.

Tim was also wearing a tie, which is pretty unusual.

Oliver's mommy was there, and she looked very beautiful.

And Linda, too -- she and Oliver both really like to dance.

And his Grandma and Papa Kevin came, too.

We all had a really good time, ate delicious food, danced, and stayed up way too late.

We made sure to get pictures of Oliver with a bunch of blue all around him because if you asked him what he wanted for his birthday, he would say, "Blue!"  He loves blue.

Climbing a tree at the park

Oliver did a really good job of climbing around in the tree... although while getting down, he did fall the last 8 inches or so and land on his face.  Even though this resulted in an actual boo-boo on his face, he assured us very quickly that he was okay.

Music at the Zoo

Oliver loves to go to the zoo and he also loves music. Tonight, two bands played outside at the zoo; Oliver had a really fabulous time.

He spent the evening running around...

dancing...

looking at animals...

looking at flowers...

smelling flowers (he's not making a funny face, as far as he knows -- that's just what his face does when he sniffs things)...

having his picture taken far more often than he really would have liked...

and having a great time with his mommy.

I am a very lucky aunt.
