Christmas Cowboy

On Chirstmas Eve, Oliver's grandma has a Red Pajama Party.  Oliver had really great red pajamas to wear to the party.  He added the cowboy hat himself.

Later, he went around making sure that everyone got a turn to be the Christmas Cowboy; he also made sure that I took a picture of it.  Here he is adjusting the hat to his satisfaction on his cousin, Mick.  (Oliver is pretty crazy about Mick.)

Later, he curled up in his mommy's lap.

Merry Christmas Eve

I have an old wooden trunk that Oliver has recently discovered. He likes to take everything out of it (except his monkey), climb in, and have me shut the lid. After a while, he pops the lid open with one arm and one leg and I am supposed to yell, "I see you, Oliver!" Then he tells me to shut the lid. Lather. Rinse. Repeat...

Elmo Pajamas

Oliver really likes Elmo, so when Tim's mom, Linda (Oliver's great-aunt-in-law, maybe?), found these pajamas, she knew he would love them.

He wore the pajamas home from Linda's house on Saturday evening and he slept in them on Saturday night. When he woke up on Sunday morning, he told his mommy that he wanted to go to the zoo. She said that sounded like a nice idea, but he'd have to take off his pajamas and put on outside clothes. Oliver decided he'd rather stay home. Here he is at Sunday dinner at Grandma's house, still wearing his jammies.

Happy birthday, dear Oliver, happy birthday to you!

Last year, Oliver was very good about keeping his birthday pictures a secret. This year, when his mommy asked him what he had been doing, he yelled, "Cheese!" His secret-keeping skills have definitely degraded, but his communication skills are getting better and better all the time.

When Oliver is happy, he runs around like a madman yelling, "Appy! Appy!"  It is contagious.


Oliver can put his hat on by himself, which is a pretty good trick. He knows this, so he claps when he's done.

Tim's mom, Linda, is not exactly related to Oliver -- although I guess we could call her his great-aunt-in-law -- but we take Oliver with us to her house almost every Saturday afternoon to hang out and eat pizza.  Linda has filled a corner of her family room with toys, books, and Oliver-sized furniture; he loves to go visit her.
